Couple on bike killed in freak.
Penampang: A couple was killed after a tree fell on them in front of the Tun Mustapha Memorial at Jalan Ulu Putatan here, Tuesday.Wollis Kin Chu @Mohd Wasli Kin Chu Abdullah, 50, and wife Susan Mung @Fatimah Mung Abdullah, 51, succumbed to serious injuries at the hospital.
The couple was on a motorcycle and was believed heading towards Putatan Township from Kg Dabak Putatan when the tragedy occurred at about 6pm.According to a JPA personnel Justin, he was sending a friend home when the tree suddenly collapsed and fell on them.
The weather was fine."I immediately rushed towards them to rescue," he said.JPA ambulance that arrived at the scene immediately sent the couple to Queen Elizabeth Hospital where they were pronounced dead.
